Holiday Alcohol Task Force Results- Week Seven

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 4, 2017

The officers of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force have been devoting their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season.

  • During this past week’s Task Force (December 28 to January 1), task force officers arrested 33 people for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI).
  • 20– Civil Alcohol Citations were issued to adults for possession of alcohol under the age of 21
  • 2 – Criminal Citations were issued to adults for having an open container in a prohibited place
  • 5 - Criminal Citations were issued to adults for selling alcohol to a minor in a business
  • 2 - Criminal Citations were issued to adults for disorderly conduct
  • 11 – Civil Alcohol Citations were issued to juveniles for possession of alcohol under the age of 21
  • During the past seven weeks of the Alcohol Holiday Task Force, task force officers have arrested 232 people for driving under the influence of alcohol.
It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties.  Therefore, the number of total DUI arrests made my MCP officers during this time period is higher.
