Same Suspect Believed to Have Committed Three Early Morning Commercial Robberies

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery that occurred early this morning at CVS Pharmacies in Bethesda and at a Rite Aid in Silver Spring.  Investigators believe that the three robberies were committed by the same suspect.  Detectives are releasing target="_blank">surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

During this investigation, detectives have determined the following:

  • On Thursday, January 26 at approximately 2:51 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at 6917 Arlington Road in Bethesda for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The black male suspect, wearing dark clothing and concealing his face, entered the store, approached an employee, and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded cash and assaulted the store employee.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and fled.
  • At approximately 5:16 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Rite Aid located at 1411 East West Highway in Silver Spring for the report of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred. The suspect entered the Rite Aid, approached an employee, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash.  The suspect fled from the Rite Aid without obtaining any property or proceeds.
  • At approximately 5:34 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at 7809 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda for the report of the armed robbery that had just occurred. The suspect entered the store, approached an employee, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and fled.
