For Immediate Release: Sunday, February 12, 2017

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred last night (February 11) in the area of Summer Oak Drive and Waring Station Road.

Yesterday, at approximately 9:54 p.m., officers from the 5th District and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the report of one person shot in the area of Waring Station Road and Summer Oak Drive.  Upon arriving to the area, first responders located two males, 18 and 20 years old, each suffering from a gun shot wound; one victim had been shot in the foot and the other victim had been shot in the leg.  Both victims were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that there was a party at a Summer Oak Drive residence.  At some point, multiple individuals who had not been invited to the party arrived to the residence but were turned away by the host.  The uninvited group of approximately 30 young people remained on foot in the area of Waring Station Road and Summer Oak Drive.  During this time, a vehicle, described as a white Chevrolet Impala or silver sedan, drove through the intersection and shots were fired from the vehicle.  The two victims were struck.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about this shooting, the suspect(s), or the suspect(s)' vehicle, to contact them immediately at 240.773.6237.  Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous and eligible for a cash reward for up to $10,000, may contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
