Concern for Missing 81-Year-Old Woman with Alzheimer's

UPDATE, February 21,2017: Shoamamash Hailesus has been located safe and unharmed and has been reunited with family.




Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 81-year-old Silver Spring woman with Alzheimer's.

Shoamamash Hailesus was last seen at her residence in the 9400 block of Curran Road in Silver Spring today at approximately 3:00 p.m.  Hailesus does not speak English - she speaks Amharic.  Hailesus does not have access to a vehicle and is not familiar with public transportation.

Hailesus is an Ethiopian female, 5’0” tall, and weighing approximately 100 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a white headscarf, a red, floral-print, floor-length dress, and black pants.

Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Shoamamash Hailesus is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.
