Detectives Investigate Two Commercial Armed Robberies Believed to be Committed by Same Suspect; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating two armed robberies that were committed at the same business and are believed to have been committed by the same suspect.  Today, detectives are releasing target="_blank">surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Friday, February 3 at approximately 9:30 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the Middlebrook Discount Beer & Wine located at 19601 Frederick Road in Germantown for a report of an armed robbery.  The investigation has revealed that the suspect entered the store, held a knife to the cashier, and demanded money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the business.

On Monday, February 13 at approximately 5:05 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the Middlebrook Discount Beer & Wine for the report of an armed robbery.  The suspect, believed to be the same suspect who robbed the store on February 3, entered the store, displayed a knife, threatened the cashier, and demanded money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the business.

The store cashier reported to detectives that during both robberies the suspect stole a bottle of Arbor Mist wine from the store.

Anyone with information about the suspect or these commercial armed robberies is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
