Detectives Investigate Home Invasion Robbery in Wheaton

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating a February 24 home invasion robbery of a 62-Year-Old Wheaton resident.

On Friday, February 24 at approximately 3:18 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the 1700 block of Windham Lane for the report of a home invasion robbery. The 62-year-old female victim stated to detectives that at approximately 12:45 p.m., she was home alone and in her kitchen when she heard a noise in the basement.  The victim went to investigate the noise and observed a male suspect running up the basement stairs toward her.   Once the suspect reached the top of the stairs, he assaulted the victim and she lost consciousness.  Upon regaining consciousness, the victim observed that the suspect was gone and that property from the home was missing.  Investigators are unable to provide any additional details about the suspect at this time.

Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the victim’s home and transported her to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that she received during the assault.
