Norbeck House Fire Death Investigation

For Immediate Release: Friday, March 3, 2017

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are conducting a death investigation following a fatal house fire that occurred yesterday evening in the Norbeck area.

On Thursday, March 2 at approximately 10:12 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a house fire in the 16000 block of Willow Lane.  Upon arrival, first responders observed that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Due to the immense fire, firefighters were unable to enter the home until the fire had been extinguished.  Upon entering, firefighters located a deceased victim inside of the home.

Detectives have determined that the homeowner, Larry Joseph Pagliai, age 71, lived alone in the house and that he cannot be accounted for at this time.

The victim’s body has been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct an autopsy to determine the victim’s identity and the manner and cause of the victim’s death.
