Detectives Investigate Silver Spring Gas Station Robbery; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the January 25 armed robbery of an Exxon gas station in Silver Spring.  Today, investigators are releasing  target="_blank">surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On January 25 at approximately 12:30 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Exxon gas station located at 8384 Colesville Road for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the gas station, displayed a knife, and approached an adult male employee who was working behind the counter.   The suspect announced the robbery and stole approximately eighty boxes of Newport cigarettes by placing them in a bag that he brought with him.  The suspect then fled from the store and was last seen on foot toward East West Highway.
