Officer Involved Shooting Investigated in Montgomery Village

Detectives with the Major Crimes Division are investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred last night (Monday) on Stedwick Road in Montgomery Village.

On Monday, March 27, a 6th District officer was investigating a call for a theft in the area of 10022 Stedwick Road.  While on the scene at approximately 11:12 p.m., the officer requested assistance stating that shots had been fired and that Fire and Rescue personnel were needed.  First responders arrived and located an adult male subject who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The male subject was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Following normal protocol, the male subject will be identified once next of kin is notified.  The officer, a five year veteran of the Department, will be identified on Tuesday during business hours.  He will be placed on paid Administrative Leave during this investigation.
