Concern for Man’s Welfare; Police Ask for Public’s Assistance

Update: April 10, 2017 - Detectives have spoken with Thomas Curtis Groce, Jr. on the telephone and determined that he is safe and unharmed.  The police thank the media and public for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance to locate Thomas Curtis Groce, Jr., age 60.  Mr. Groce has lived in Bethesda in the past but investigators have been unable to confirm his current address.

Mr. Groce was last seen tonight at approximately 6:21 p.m. at a medical facility on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda.  While there, he made statements indicating that he wanted to harm himself.  Investigators are attempting to locate Mr. Groce, Jr. and check his welfare.

Mr. Groce was last seen wearing a blue jacket, dark colored pants, and a black leather hat.

Anyone with information about Thomas Curtis Groce, Jr. and/or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department at 301-279-8000 (24/7 line).
