Suspect Charged with Five Armed Robberies of Food Delivery Drivers

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section have charged Babucarr Fatty, age 24, of the 20500 block of Strath Haven Drive in Montgomery Village, with committing five armed robberies of food delivery drivers in the Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg areas.  The robberies occurred between May 5 and May 9.

Fatty was charged with the following armed robberies and thefts:

  • On May 5, at approximately 10:48 p.m., Fatty contacted a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant and requested that food be delivered to a home in the 9300 block of Chadburn Place in Montgomery Village. The delivery driver arrived at that location and Fatty stole the food from the driver.
  • On May 6, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Fatty contacted a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant and requested that food be delivered to a home in the 9500 block of Horizon Run Road in Gaithersburg. The delivery driver arrived at that location and Fatty robbed him of the food and an undisclosed amount of cash.
  • On May 8, at approximately 10:21 p.m., Fatty contacted a Gaithersburg Chinese food restaurant and requested that food be delivered to a home in the 20600 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village. Fatty attempted to rob the delivery driver after he arrived at that location but he did not obtain any food or cash during this attempted robbery.
  • On May 8, at approximately 10:51 p.m., Fatty contacted a Chinese restaurant in Montgomery Village and requested that food be delivered to a home in the 20500 block of Aspenwood Lane in Montgomery Village. The delivery driver arrived at that location and Fatty robbed him of the food and an undisclosed amount of cash.
  • On May 9, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Fatty contacted a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant and requested that food be delivered to a home in the 20600 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village. The delivery driver arrived at that location and Fatty robbed him of the food and an undisclosed amount of cash.
On May 10, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Fatty charging with 5 counts of armed robbery, 5 counts of first-degree assault, 4 counts of using a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, and other related charges.

On May 11, Fatty was arrested at his home on the strength of the Montgomery County arrest warrant and transported to the Central Processing Unit.  Fatty was ordered to be held without bond.
