Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Nude Attempted Burglary Suspect; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Investigative Section continue to investigate an attempted residential burglary that occurred on May 17 in the 5100 block of Newport Avenue in the Bethesda area.  Detectives have obtained home surveillance video of the nude male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 17, 2nd District officers responded to a residence on Newport Avenue for the report of a homeowner who was reviewing his home’s surveillance video and discovered that a nude suspect had attempted to gain entry into his residence shortly after midnight.  The homeowner observed the suspect walking around the home, peering into windows, and attempting to open a door to gain entry into the home.  The suspect fled when an exterior motion light on the home was activated.

Anyone who has information about the suspect is asked to call the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
