Detectives Investigate Montgomery Village Bank Robbery; Suspect Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon at the Sandy Spring Bank in Montgomery Village.

On Monday, June 12 at approximately 2:18 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the Sandy Spring Bank located at 9921 Stedwick Road for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller, and passed a note that demanded money.  The note implied that the suspect had a weapon.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Today, detectives are releasing photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
