Police Investigate Death in Sandy Spring Area as Suspicious

For Immediate Release: Saturday, June 17, 2017

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division and investigators from the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting a joint vehicle fire and death investigation.

This morning at approximately 8:38, the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center received a call for a vehicle fire on the property of a residence in the 1300 block of Excaliber Lane in Sandy Spring.

Fire & Rescue personnel and 4th District officers responded to the area and located a deceased person in the vehicle. Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating this as a suspicious death.
