Concern For Silver Spring Woman - Silver Alert Activated

UPDATE: Sylvia Ann Straub was located in St. Mary's County by Maryland State Police.  She is safe and unharmed and will be reunited with family.

Detectives with the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing 79-year-old Silver Spring woman diagnosed with dementia.

Sylvia Ann Straub was last known to be driving her blue 2010 Ford Fusion in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Powder Mill Road at approximately 7:00 a.m. today.  She was traveling to the Beltsville Costco.

Sylvia Straub is described as a white female, 5' 1" tall, and weighing 120 pounds.  She has light blonde or grey hair.  At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a black sweater and black pants.  She resides on Symphony Woods Lane in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.

A Silver Alert has been activated for Sylvia Straub and the blue 2010 Ford Fusion with Maryland tags 7CM3236.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sylvia Straub or the blue Ford Fusion is urged to call 9-1-1.
