Detectives Investigate Robbery of Gaithersburg 7-Eleven; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the July 11 robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Gaithersburg. Today, investigators are releasing  target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Tuesday, July 11 at approximately 3:54 p.m., 6th District officers and officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 418 Allied Place for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the 7-Eleven, selected merchandise, and approached an employee who was working at the cash register to pay for that merchandise.  The suspect gave the clerk a small amount of currency and when the employee opened the cash register to complete the sale, the suspect leaned over the counter and stole cash from the register drawer.  The suspect then fled from the store with the money and was last seen entering the passenger side door of a tan or brown colored minivan that was parked in front of the 7-Eleven.  The minivan was further described as having a loud exhaust system and was last seen fleeing out of the parking lot of the 7-Eleven.

Anyone with information about this suspect or this robbery is asked to call the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this crime.
