Concern for Missing Gaithersburg Man

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 18, 2017

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Gaithersburg man.

Michael Wayne Umberger, age 57, of South Frederick Avenue, was last seen by hospital staff at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, when he was released from Holy Cross Hospital located at 19801 Observation Drive in Germantown.

Umberger is described as a white male, approximately 5’7” tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.  He has dark eyes, black hair, and was last seen with a full beard.

Police and family are concerned for Umberger’s physical welfare as he has not returned home or contacted family since being released from the hospital.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Michael Wayne Umberger is urged to call 9-1-1.
