Concern for Missing Wheaton Area Man

UPDATE: Roy Sumbwe has been located safe and unharmed. Police and family thank the public and media for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 4th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Wheaton area man.

Roy Sumbwe, age 51, was last seen by family members at approximately 11:00 p.m. yesterday evening (July 18), when he was left his McMahon Road residence on foot.    Sumbwe is described as an African American male, approximately 6’1” tall and weighing approximately 280 pounds.  He has brown eyes, black hair, and a birthmark on the right side of his forehead.

Police and family are concerned for Sumbwe’s emotional welfare.
