Detectives Investigate Homicide in Silver Spring Area

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred last night inside of a residence in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring.

On Wednesday, July 19 at approximately 9:51 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911) received a call from an occupant of a residence in the 1600 block of Belvedere Boulevard who reported that a suspect had entered the home and had shot one of the other occupants of the house.  The caller further stated that the suspect had fled from the home after the shooting.  3rd District officers responded to the residence and located the adult male victim on the upper level of the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the house and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

This homicide investigation is continuing and additional information will be released once it is confirmed.
