Serious Pedestrian Collision in Aspen Hill

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in the Aspen Hill area on Tuesday, July 18.

At approximately 9:23 p.m., Montgomery County officers from the 4th District and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Connecticut Avenue at Georgia Avenue for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation developed that a 2006 Toyota Scion was traveling southbound on Connecticut Avenue when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing the southbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue.

The vehicle driver, Mohamed Farzan Imtiyaz, age 21, of the 12000 block of Goodhill Road in Silver Spring; his passenger, Hunter Anne Zetscher, age 12, of the 3900 block of Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring; and the pedestrian, Trent Jerome Peterson, age 60, of the 1900 block of Rosemary Hills in Silver Spring; were all transported to area hospitals.

The driver and passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian remains in treatment for more serious injuries.
