Detectives Investigate Gunshots Fired Into Residence

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) - Third District have been investigating a July 17 shooting where gunshots were fired into an occupied home from a moving vehicle.  The Department is releasing video surveillance from the area of the suspect vehicle and are asking anyone with information to call investigators.

On July 17 at approximately 3:25 a.m., MCPD responded to a residence in the 9400 block of Avenel Road in Silver Spring for the report of a possible shooting that had just occurred.  The residents of the home reported to police that they were awakened by the sounds of possible gunshots.  Officers located numerous spent rounds that had traveled from the outside into the home and also found numerous shell casings in the roadway in front of the home. Area video surveillance captured the suspect vehicle at approximately 3:18 am (note that the time on the actual video is not correct).  No one was injured during this assault.
