Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Burtonsville; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the July 26 commercial burglary of the Jerry’s Subs and Pizza restaurant in Burtonsville.  Today, detectives are releasing target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Wednesday, July 26 at approximately 3:45 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Jerry’s Subs and Pizza restaurant located at 15547 Old Columbia Pike for the report of a commercial burglary alarm at the business.  Responding officers discovered that the rear door to the restaurant had been forced open and that entry was made into the business.

Investigators reviewed restaurant video surveillance that showed the suspect inside of the restaurant at approximately 3:38 a.m.  Detectives have determined that the suspect used a power tool to cut a hole in the restaurant’s safe.  The suspect obtained cash from the safe and fled from the restaurant.
