Detectives Investigate Home Invasion Robbery in Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating a home invasion robbery at a residence in Silver Spring that occurred during the overnight hours yesterday and into the early morning hours today.

On Wednesday, August 2 at approximately 8:12 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 8800 block of Manchester Road for the report of a home invasion robbery.  An adult female victim, stated to officers that suspects entered the home, bound them, and held them there overnight before fleeing from the residence early this morning.

The investigation by detectives has determined that at approximately 9:00 p.m. yesterday evening (August 1), the home was occupied by two adult victims and a juvenile victim when the suspects knocked on the door to the residence.  The suspects were able to have the victims let them into the home.  A short time later, an additional victim arrived at the home while the suspects were still inside the residence.  At approximately midnight, an additional adult female victim arrived at the home.The suspects bound the adult victims.  Detectives are working to understand the suspect’s actions through the night as they held the victims captive.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, one suspect began to assault an adult male victim with a knife.  During the assault, this victim disarmed the suspect which caused the three remaining suspects in the home to flee from the house.  The victims were then able to contact 9-1-1 once the suspects had fled.

Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the home and transported an adult male victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that he received during the home invasion robbery and assault.

One suspect is described as African American male in his 20’s, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a medium build.  He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.  A second suspect is described as African American male in his 20’s wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.  The remaining three suspects are described as African American males in their 20’s.
