Concern for Missing Man

Update: August 22, 2017 - Matthew Wood has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man.

Matthew Wood, age 33, was taken to an appointment at the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services building located at 8818 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring by a family member on the morning of August 16.  Family has been unable to contact him since that time.

Mr. Wood and the family member made plans for Wood to use the Metro system to return to his family’s home in Washington, D.C. after his appointment had concluded.  Family reported that they have had no contact with Mr. Wood since he was dropped off.  Mr. Wood is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds.  He has brown eyes and is bald.  He was last seen wearing a short sleeve t-shirt and patterned cargo shorts.

Mr. Wood does not have his necessary medication with him.  Police and family are concerned for Mr. Wood’s physical and emotional welfare.
