Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Bethesda; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the September 17 commercial burglary of the Woodmont Market Beer and Wine store in Bethesda.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Sunday, September 17 at approximately 2:49 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Woodmont Market Beer and Wine store located at 8227 Woodmont Avenue for the report of a commercial burglary alarm at the business.  Responding officers discovered the front glass door to the business had been shattered and that entry was made into the business.

Investigators reviewed store video surveillance that showed the suspect used a wooden pole to shatter the glass to the front door and enter the business at approximately 2:36 a.m.  The suspect stole several bottles of wine and fled from the store.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary is asked to contact the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online.
