Detectives Investigate Death in Shopping Center Parking Lot

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of a male victim who was found deceased inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the White Flint Plaza shopping center located at 5110 Nicholson Lane in Kensington.

On Monday, September 25 at approximately 1:57 p.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the shopping center for the report of a deceased person inside of a car in the parking lot near the Shoppers grocery store.  Responding officers located the vehicle and observed the victim deceased in the rear seat area of the car.

The victim’s body was transported to Baltimore where an autopsy was completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME).

On Wednesday, September 27, the victim was identified as Joseph Sylvester Ndyamukama, age 51, of an unconfirmed address.  Ndyamukama’s autopsy results are pending.  A further update will be provided once the OCME has determined Ndyamukama’s manner and cause of death.

Investigators have been unable to locate Ndyamukama’s next-of-kin and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating his family.
