Concern For Missing Fairland Area Man

Update: October 3, 2017 – Mack Rue has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police - 3rd District Investigative Section are asking the public for assistance in locating a man missing from the Fairland area of Silver Spring.

Mack Rue, 82 years old and suffers from Dementia, left his Brackley Terrace residence at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30. Rue has been missing in the past and is familiar with public transportation.  In two past incidents, Rue was located in the District of Columbia and Prince George's County.

Mack Rue is described as an African American male, 5' 8" tall, and weighing 145 pounds.  He has gray hair but is balding on the top of his head.  It is not known what type of clothing Rue was wearing when he walked away from his home.

Police and family are concerned for Mack Rue's welfare.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mack Rue is urged to call 9-1-1.
