Detectives Investigate Commercial Armed Robbery in Germantown; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the September 9 armed robbery of a Pizza Hut restaurant in Germantown.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Saturday, September 9 at approximately 2:26 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the Pizza Hut restaurant located at 19733 Frederick Road for the report of the armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant displaying a handgun.  The suspect vaulted the front counter and demanded cash from an employee.  The employee complied with the suspects demands.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency from the register and fled from the restaurant on foot.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division; Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
