Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred early Saturday morning on October 21st in Rockville.

On October 21st at approximately 2:30 a.m., 1st District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Shady Grove Road at Crabbs Branch Way for the report of a serious personal injury collision involving a pedestrian.  First responders located an injured male pedestrian in the roadway.  He was transported to Suburban Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  He is being identified as 19-year-old, Jaumoithe Houseal of Welbeck Road in Montgomery Village.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound on Shady Grove Road when for reasons still under investigation, struck Houseal on Shady Grove Road in the area of Crabbs Branch Way.  The driver, identified as Carlos Marco Montano, 50 years old, of Carousel Court in Gaithersburg, remained on the scene and provided information to investigator.
