Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Wheaton Robbery Suspects; Surveillance Photograph Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 4th District Investigative Section continue to investigate the October 11 armed robbery of a resident that occurred in Wheaton.  Today, investigators are releasing a surveillance photograph of two of the three suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

The investigation by detectives determined that at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, the adult female victim was followed by the three suspects from the food court of the Westfield Wheaton Mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road to the stairwell entrance of a parking garage area of the mall.  The victim stated that the three suspects, one armed with a handgun, approached her and then concealed their faces with masks. The first suspect assaulted the victim and threatened her with the handgun while the second suspect removed her wallet from her pants.  The victim stated that the third suspect acted as a lookout during the robbery.  The three suspects then fled from the area.

The suspect who was armed with a handgun is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens, 5’ 5” tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds.  He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black and white Adidas tennis shoes, and had a black backpack.

The second suspect is described as an African-American male who is 5’ 8” tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.  He has black eyes and brown hair.  He was wearing a black hoodie, dark blue pants, orange shoes, and had a black backpack.

The third suspect is described as an African-American male.  He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and had a black backpack.
