Concern for Missing Kemp Mill Area Man

Update: November 12, 2017 - John Hanifin has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department – 1st District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Kemp Mill area man.

John Hanifin, age 70, was last seen today at approximately 11:00 a.m. when he left a friend’s residence where he frequently stays, located in the 11200 block of Lombardy Road.  At that time, he was believed to be operating a white, 2010 Ford Econoline van with Maryland tags: 6CJ6030.

John Hanifin is described as a white male, 5’ 10” tall and weighs 190 pounds.  He has light brown hair and brown eyes.

Police and family members are concerned for Mr. Hanifin’s physical and emotional welfare.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of John Hanifin or his vehicle to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
