Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the discovery of human remains found in a wooded area located in the 19500 block of Georgia Avenue in Brookeville.
On Sunday, November 12 at approximately 5:15 p.m., a resident notified police that he had been walking his dogs in the woods and located what he believed to be human bones. 4th District officers responded to the area and located a shallow grave that contained skeletal remains. Detectives believe that the unknown person is an adult who has been deceased for less than a year.
An autopsy will be completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of death.
