Detectives Investigate Wheaton Bank Robbery; Surveillance Photograph Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred yesterday at a PNC Bank in Wheaton.  Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Tuesday, November 14 at approximately 2:18 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the PNC Bank located inside of the Giant Food grocery store at 2900 University Boulevard West for the report of a bank robbery.  The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.  The suspect was last seen on foot in the area of the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
