MCP Sobriety Checkpoint Tonight – Always Choose a Sober Driver

Update: December 1, 2017 at 11:15 p.m. - The sobriety checkpoint is located on Rockville Pike (Route 355) at Edmonston Drive in Rockville.

During the holiday season, there are many celebrations where people choose to drink alcohol.  The Montgomery County Police Department is again reminding motorists to have a plan, drive responsibly, and choose a sober driver.

Tonight, December 1, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department and deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint.

This enforcement is a component of the Department’s continuing effort to curb impaired driving and underage drinking.  In addition to the checkpoint, Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force officers continue to devote their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses.

The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed in advance.
