Detectives Investigate Death in Burtonsville

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of an adult female who was found deceased in a pond this afternoon in Burtonsville.

On Wednesday, January 3 at approximately 3:39 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to a pond behind the 14200 block of Ballinger Terrace for the report of a suspicious situation.  First responders located the remains of an adult female in the pond.

This is an active and ongoing death investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. More details will be released as they become available.
