Detectives Investigate Wheaton Gas Station Armed Robbery; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the January 2 armed robbery of a BP gas station in Wheaton.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On January 2 at approximately 8:55 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the BP gas station located at 2201 University Boulevard West for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the two suspects, both with their faces concealed, entered the gas station and confronted an adult employee who was working behind the counter.  One suspect who was armed with a handgun threatened the employee and demanded money from the register.  The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, fled from the gas station, and were last seen on foot on Amherst Avenue toward Blueridge Avenue.
