Concern For Gaithersburg Man

Update: January 10, 2018 - Pouwedeo Faranda's location has been confirmed. He is safe and unharmed. The police and family thank the public and media for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives with the 6th District Investigative Section are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing Gaithersburg man.

Pouwedeo Faranda, 30 years old, is employed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda and was scheduled to work at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9.  Faranda and his supervisor spoke on the phone at approximately 5:45 a.m. but Faranda did not report to work.  Family and friends have not had contact with Faranda either.

Pouwedeo Faranda is described as an African American male, 5' 4" tall, and weighing 135 pounds.  A clothing description cannot be confirmed at this time.

Police and family are concerned for Pouwedeo Faranda's emotional and physical welfare.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Pouwedeo Faranda is urged to call 9-1-1.
