Concern for Missing North Potomac Man

Update: January 20, 2018: Mutale John Kambaila has been located safe and unharmed.


Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 1st District are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing North Potomac man.

Mutale John Kambaila, age 44, was last at his residence located on Native Dancer Court yesterday (January 17) at approximately 10:00 am.  He had planned to drive to Pennsylvania yesterday but it is unknown if he reached his destination.

Kambaila is described as an African American male, approximately 5’10” tall, and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and wears glasses.  He was last seen wearing a black, puffy Columbia jacket and blue jeans.

Kambaila's vehicle is a gold, 2005, Toyota RAV4 with Maryland tag: 3CZ5482.

Police and family are concerned as family has not been able to contact Kambaila and does not know his whereabouts.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mutale Kambaila to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
