Detectives Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Bethesda Theft Suspect; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit are investigating the theft of high dollar eye glass frames that began in June 2017 with the most recent theft occurring in January. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

On January 20, at approximately 1:25 p.m., 2nd District patrol officers responded to the Ilori store located at 5330 Wisconsin Avenue for a report of a theft that had just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the store, stole several high valued glass frames, and fled from the store on foot. Detectives determined that the suspect has committed the same theft on two prior occasions at the same store. Detectives believe that this suspect committed similar thefts in the Arlington, Virginia area.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect is asked to call the 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-6700. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided that leads to an arrest in this case.
