Three Juveniles Arrested for Montgomery Village Armed Robberies

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section have charged Johntae S. Blue, age 16, of the 19900 block of Sweetgum Circle in Germantown, Kobe A. Hunter, age 17, of the 1300 block of Vadalia Drive in Rockville, and a 15-year-old Germantown male for two armed robberies that occurred on February 15 in Montgomery Village. Blue and Hunter were charged as adults for these armed robberies.

On Thursday, February 15 at approximately 9:00 p.m., 6th District officers responded for the report of an armed robbery that occurred in the area of Stedwick Road and Watkins Mill Road.  The adult male victim was approached by two suspects who threatened him with a handgun and demanded property.  The suspects fled after stealing the victim’s phone.

A short time later, an adult female victim contacted police to report that she was in the parking lot of the Montgomery Village Shopping Center located at 19100 Montgomery Village Avenue when she was confronted by three suspects as she exited her vehicle.  One suspect threatened her with a handgun and demanded property.  The suspects stole the victim’s purse and fled from the area on foot.

Through investigation, the three suspects were identified.  On February 16, detectives located Blue and the juvenile male in the area of Lost Knife Circle and Odendhall Avenue in Gaithersburg and arrested them for the armed robberies.  On February 17, investigators arrested Hunter in Rockville.

Blue and Hunter were charged as adults with two counts each of armed robbery.  They are currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center. The 15-year-old male was charged as a juvenile with two counts of armed robbery and detained by the Department of Juvenile Services.
