Concern for Missing Mother and Son

Update: March 14, 2018 - Crystal Marie Wood and her five-year-old son, Gianni Vanegas have been located safe and unharmed.

The press release was edited on 3/13/18 to reflect the correct last name of "Wood."

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing mother and her son.

Crystal Marie Wood, age 33, of Tidewater Court in Olney, has her five-year-old son, Gianni Vanegas, with her.  They were last known to be in the Olney area earlier today.

Wood is described as a white female who is 5’ 4” tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.  Wood was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with the word "pink" written on the front, black leggings, and carrying a red purse.  Vanegas is approximately 3' tall and weighs 41 pounds.  He has brown eyes and brown hair.  He was last seen wearing a dark jacket over a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, and gray, high top Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Police and family are concerned for the well-being of Crystal Wood and her son.
