Police Conduct Death Investigation in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Update: March 15 at 4:00 p.m. - The investigation has determined that the decedent is an adult female.  The findings of the autopsy, to include the decedent's identity and manner and cause of death, are pending. 




Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division and fire investigators from the Montgomery County Office of Fire and Explosive Investigations (FEI) are conducting a joint vehicle fire and death investigation in Germantown.

This morning at approximately 4:22, the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center received a call for a brush fire in a wooded area located in the 13700 block of Wisteria Drive.

Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the wooded area and located a vehicle on fire. Fire & Rescue personnel extinguished the fire and located a deceased person in the vehicle. Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating this death.
