Concern for Missing Derwood Teenager

Update: May 16, 2018 - Kayla Mae Santmyer has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Special Victims Investigations Division are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing teenager.

Kayla Mae Santmyer, age 17, resides in a group home located in the 17700 block Lisa Drive and was last seen by caretakers on Saturday, April 7.   Family reported that Santmyer is unfamiliar with the area.

Santmyer is described as a white female, approximately 5’ 1” tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds.  She has long brown hair and brown eyes.  Santmyer was last seen wearing a blue leather jacket.

Police and family are concerned for Santmyer’s welfare. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kayla Mae Santmyer is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
