Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the April 5 robbery of the designer sunglass and eyeglass store
ILORI in Friendship Heights. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
On Thursday, April 5 at approximately 1:03 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the
ILORI store located at 5530 Western Avenue for the report of the robbery that had just occurred.
The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspects entered the
ILORI store and tried on several pairs of glasses while browsing through the displays. An employee became suspicious of the suspects’ activities and began to record them on his cell phone. One suspect observed the employee filming and threatened to assault him. The suspects stole numerous pairs of eyeglasses having a total value of $7,000 from a display case and fled from the store.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about this robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section at 240-773-5100. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
