Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Commercial Robbery Suspects; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the April 9 robbery of the designer sunglass and eyeglass store ILORI in Friendship Heights.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the four suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On Monday, April 9 at approximately 10:50 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the ILORI store located at 5330 Western Avenue for the report of the robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that two of the suspects entered the ILORI store and browsed through the displays.  An employee became suspicious of the suspects’ activities and asked them to leave the store.  One suspect threatened to assault the employee as the two additional suspects entered the store.  The suspects who had just entered the store then stole numerous pairs of eyeglasses from a display case.  All the suspects fled from the store and were last seen entering the Friendship Heights Metro Station located at 5337 Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest, Washington, D.C.
