Detectives Investigate Commercial Armed Robbery in Burtonsville; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the April 27 armed robbery of a Roy Rogers restaurant in Burtonsville.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Friday, April 27 at approximately 6:03 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Roy Rogers restaurant located at 15662 Old Columbia Pike for the report of the armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant, pointed a handgun at an adult male employee, and demanded cash from the business.   The employee complied with the suspects’ demands.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency from the business and fled from the restaurant on foot.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division; Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
