Detectives Investigate Series of Residential Burglaries in Germantown; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 5th District Investigative Section continue to investigate five residential burglaries that occurred between April 16 and April 23 in the Waring Station area of Germantown.  The burglaries are believed to have been committed by the same two suspects.   After the burglaries, the suspects then fraudulently used credit cards stolen during these burglaries at stores in Prince George’s County and in Washington, D.C. Today, detectives are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

The investigation by detectives determined that between April 16 and April 23, the suspects forced entry into five homes and stole property, to include credit cards.  The following burglaries were reported to police:

April 16 – in the 12000 block of Stoney Bottom Road.

April 18 – in the 19000 block of Ridgecrest Drive.

April 18 - in the 12000 block of Stoney Bottom Road.

April 23 - in the 19000 block of Ridgecrest Drive.

April 23 – in the 19000 block of Gunnerfield Lane.

The suspects later used the stolen credit cards at the Nike Factory Store in Oxon Hill, the DTLR store in Oxon Hill, a Walmart store in Washington, D.C., and at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Martin Luthor King Junior Avenue in Southeast, Washington, D.C.  Investigators believe that the suspects may be operating a dark colored 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
