Detectives Investigate Residential Burglary in Woodside Area of Silver Spring; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Investigative Section continue to investigate a May 12 residential burglary in the Woodside area of Silver Spring.  A suspect fraudulently used credit cards stolen during the burglary at stores in Wheaton and Silver Spring.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Saturday, May 12 at approximately 9:44 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to a home in the 1700 block of East West Highway for the report of a residential burglary.  The investigation by detectives revealed that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., the suspect(s) entered the occupied residence through a rear door. The suspect(s) stole property, to include credit cards.

A suspect used a stolen credit card at the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 8455 Colesville Road in Silver Spring and at the H&M store located at 8518 Fenton Street in Silver Spring.  This same suspect attempted to use a stolen credit card at the Champs Sports store located inside the Westfield Wheaton mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton but that transaction was declined.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
