Detectives Investigate Shooting in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in Germantown.

This morning at approximately 2:18, a 28-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso approached a security employee outside of the Adventist HealthCare Germantown Emergency Center (GEC) located at 19731 Germantown Road .  The victim was transported with non-life-threatening injuries from the Germantown Emergency Center to a local trauma hospital for additional treatment.

Preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that the victim and a group of individuals unknown to the victim were involved in a dispute to the rear of the 7-Eleven store located at 19786 Crystal Rock Drive.  During the dispute, the victim was shot.  The victim sought help at the Germantown Emergency Center (which is adjacent to the 7- Eleven) and police were called to the scene.
