Detectives Investigate Home Invasion Robbery in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, May 29, 2018

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating an early morning home invasion robbery in Germantown where the suspects fired shots inside the residence.  Detectives do not believe that this home invasion robbery was random.

This morning (May 29) at approximately 12:01 a.m., 5th District officers responded to a residence in the 13600 block of Demetrias Way for the report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that shortly before midnight, on Monday, May 28, two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, forced entry into the occupied home.  An adult victim in the home reported to detectives that she heard the sound of gunshots inside the home and went to investigate.  The victim was confronted by the two suspects who then threatened her with the handgun and demanded cash.  The suspects obtained property from the home and fled.

During the investigation, detectives determined that the suspects fired several shots while inside the residence.  Investigators further determined that some of the shots penetrated a wall of the home and entered a neighboring home.  Responding officers checked that home and no injuries were reported.

The suspect who was armed with the handgun is described as an African American male in his 30’s and who is approximately 6’ 1” tall.  The second suspect is described as an African American male between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5’ 9” tall, and weighs approximately 250 pounds.
